Obviously, Ed Trice belongs here, but he’s such a monumental fraud, that he warrants his very own page.  This page is for the Ed Trice Jrs., of the world, who I hope that Bruce Towell/JOSHKA/Tattoo, will be the final entry, but I guess that's wishing for too much.

MY 61 MEMORABLE GAMES  is a TRAVESTY against the memory of Bobby Fischer.  My firm belief is that it is nothing more than the creation of Ed Trice  armed with a chess playing program, such as Fritz.  I firmly believe that anyone who has the stupidity and lack of character to claim this MANURE PAPERBACK, is the product of Bobby Fischer, especially knowing his death bed denial, are not only defecating on the memory of Bobby Fischer, but are supporting thee MONUMENTAL FRAUD in chess publishing history. 

Bruce Towell/JOSHKA/Tattoo started out as an eBay customer with me, then we exchanged emails regarding Ed Trice, and then finally I spent many hours on the phone trying to appeal to his sense of honor, and implored him to do what was right - to come clean about his involvement with mega conman, Ed Trice.

Bruce Towell/JOSHKA/Tattoo reluctantly agreed to post an admission on chessgames.com that he had in fact received the same emails that Ed Trice had claimed I had fabricated on my website.  Well now, Bruce Towell/JOSHKA/Tattoo has expressed regret for coming clean when I was being attacked by Ed Trice. 

He is now the proud owner of a copy or copies of Ed Trice’s  manifesto, MY 61 MEMORABLE GAMES and this living brain donor just can’t believe his ‘lucky stars’ and regrets ever going against Ed Trice.  Its times like this that I’m reminded of Larry Flint’s infamous ‘#$%#& Of the Month’ column in his reprehensible magazine, Hustler. 

I have many emails from Bruce Towell/JOSHKA/Tattoo  that I will be posting over the next few weeks.  Let’s see if he mimics his ‘big brother’ Ed Trice and claims that they’re all fabricated.  Here’s one to start this page:

IMlday: Some reasoning: 1) There are places where the author gives factual data regarding things which one would not know unless one were actually present at the time.  (Why does this sound like HACKMATE??) However other people still alive were present so if it were made up they would quickly spot the ruse and easily expose the forgery. A master forger might risk such a predicament if it were essential to the story but would not do so if it were something merely trivial like for example the hotel donkey at Sousse. The author begrudgingly admits that the "foul beast" had a purpose and tells what it was. Why would a forger, even one armed with google and fritz, risk anything for such a triviality? (Why don’t you ask Ed Trice – the evidence is overwhelming that he was behind this book?  However, that notwithstanding, the Scientific Method doesn’t thrust the burden of proof on the listener/reader.  The presenter is to make his case with facts, not questions.) 2) Fischer's freedom from conventional thinking would be very hard to mimic. (Not really, just think of something off the wall, and run with it.) After he suggested them, only then did ideas like increments, deciding Candidates by matches or randomized openings seem sensible. New unconventional ideas in the book include dark figurine symbols for the Black pieces in the notation, and in the diagrams the White Kt's face left and Black Kt's face right. (Already done 22 years earlier… http://labatechess.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=142 )  (You need to be much more thorough in your research!) It is also obviously highly unconventional to issue a book with no copyright claimed or publisher listed. (Not if you’ve produced an unauthorized/illegal work!) A novel punctuation is !/2, half an exclamation mark. To imitate such creative originality would be a very difficult task for a forger; (Haven't we been using that already??  It's called !? That wasn't so difficult now, was it, and not really extraordinary?) 3) The forger would have to imitate both Fischer's glee in finding an error in "Weinstein's" analysis as well as his begrudging admission when he can't. (Really, just look at Hackmate's glee on his bio...look familiar?) 4) Egomania. Fischer liked to have records, youngest GM, that sort of thing. (And I guess the first undefeated ex-Champion.  I don't buy this record argument.  Fischer believed he was World Champion for life.  He didn't care if others didn't agree.  He said he had already been the World Champion for 10 years prior to 1972, and of course in 1992, and beyond.  He said as much after he beat Spassky, and yes, that was in an interview.) How about longest variation in a note and broadest variation--so broad the English alphabet is used up and the printer has to supply Greek letters as well? (Another possibility is to start with capital letters A-Z, and then switch to lowercase letters a-z.  Would 52 footnotes be enough?  And then if not, we could go to adding a 1 to every lower case letter a1-z1, all the way up to nine, a9-z9.  Would 286 footnotes be enough?  And then if 286 footnotes weren't enough, we could go to....anything but the moronically incomprehensible STUPIDASS claim of Greek letters...Give me a bleeping break!) Not easy to imitate dada goofiness I think; (An uneducated, uncouth, tunnel vision (chess, anti-semitic literature), high school dropout being well versed in the Greek Alphabet?) 5) Evidently Fischer personified White's light-squared Bishop, the "Fischer Bishop". A forger might pick some stock phrase and repeat it but this author consistently comes up with new expressions. Individually any one of the descriptions might be suspect but collectively they are meaningful in sequence; (Okay, I'm stumped for now.  I’m working on a response to this one – I’m confident it does exists!) 6) An evident forgery would have bored and disappointed me. (It doesn’t really take much not to bore you Mr. Day…the ducks for one, and of course your infamous ‘The Underground Artist’ article, NIC 1986/1)  This book did neither. It's too good. The customer is satisfied (despite many typos); (The 'customer' was satisfied three weeks before he even had the book!) 7) The book is dated Nov '07 when Fischer was still alive to sue if he had been forged. (The book didn’t actually appear until Nov. 10, 2008, almost 10 months after Fischer’s death.  What would Fischer have sued for in 2007?  There was ZERO physical evidence for the existence of a book, just a scam.   I should know, I was the high bidder on both ebay auctions, and I couldn't get any digital pictures of an actual book, or a stack of books.  I did get a lot of long winded answers, but never any hard evidence that a book existed.  Nor could GM Larry Evans.  Bobby would have had just as much luck suing Ed Trice for trespassing on land that he purchased on Mars!) He did sue to have "Chess Meets of the Century" withdrawn.; wouldn't allow his name on it even as a coauthor; 8)Fischer's name is on the cover; (Well...that clinches it, doesn’t it?) 9)I don't see how a hostile forger could have obtained unpublished photographs (One by one, all these photographs are being attributed, and time will attest to the rest.) and Fischer's banking correspondence; http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=3265 (Not really that hard after all, is it Mr. Day?)   Thanks to chancho for finding this reference! 10) The forgery theory comes entirely from those who have not had access to the book. Based solely on the work itself I can't see any evidence at all to support the forgery theory.  (Evans, Seirawan, Saidy, Silman all talked to Bobby and knew Bobby.  Evans alone would be enough since he knew and worked with Bobby.  Every one of these higher rated titled players scoffed at the ‘new and improved’ Bobby Fischer. )
